Arts for Life! annually awards $1,000 scholarships to 25 graduating high school seniors in Florida who demonstrate excellence in one of the following art forms:

 

·                creative writing

·                dance

·                drama

·                music

·                visual art

 

Application Period:

The 2025-26 application period deadline is February 9, 2026.

 

Eligibility:

High school students who are graduating from a public, private, or virtual school or a home education program in Florida during the current academic year.

FOCUS Parent Portal Instructions:

ACT scores may be used for high school dual-enrollment, Florida Bright Futures Scholarships, as concordant scores for state testing, and ultimately as a college-entrance exam.  The ACT is offered at HCHS in October, December, February and April.

Several ACT Prep Courses are offered in our area.  While we do not endorse any single group or test prep, we want our students to be aware of options that are available.  Houston Academy in Dothan offers their Wiregrass Plus ACT Preparation Course.  They are available in the evening.  Pre-registration and pre-pay is required.  More information can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/actpreparationclasses.
